What to do about a suspicious email

  • Don't click suspicious links or open unexpected attachments.
  • Don't reply with passwords, verification codes, payment information or sensitive personal information.
  • Display names and sender information can be spoofed.
  • Check the actual sender address/domain carefully.
  • If the message claims to represent an organization, contact that organization through independently verified contact information rather than links or contact information in the email.
